Quality, Health & Safety, Environment

We operate an Integrated Management System (IMS), which supports our third party accreditation by Bureau Veritas for Quality, Safety, and Environment.

We have regular consultations with our global teams, which enables us to analyse our performance and make systematic efforts to improve it.

Quality

Continually assess and improve our performance, in order to provide the highest standard of products and service to our patrons, whilst achieving true value for money.

Health & Safety

Recognising that our policies alone will not impact on our performance – the way forward is to clearly link processes and procedures that will engage our people.

Environment

Knowing that we should strive to minimize adverse impacts on the local environments in which we operate and the global environment in general to save resources as much as possible.

We will boldly seek to set new standards in Quality, Safety and the Environment, with continuous improvement outcomes for all of our stakeholders.

Quality

Our leadership and employees are highly motivated and committed to using a Quality Control Plan, providing our clients with an effective means of performance measurement, and our patrons with a high quality of service. We aim to improve the abilities and success of all employees through education, training and development, coaching, and support to achieve excellence in all areas of our operation. Through our proven experience in providing quality food service contracts with the use of robust Quality Control systems and our experience in management support service contracts worldwide, we will ensure that the same consistently high standards are delivered across all performance objectives and services throughout any contract.

Through our Quality Assurance Programme, we achieve the following:

  • Timely performance
  • Compliance with regulations and guidelines
  • A robust programme for HACCP Plan compliance
  • Management efficiency
  • Cost Control and Total Value

Typically, our Quality Assurance Program consists of a number of mutually supporting modules that are a part of our Operational Management System and the basis of our ISO 9001 accreditations:

  • Quality Control Plan:
    designed to establish standards, supporting processes, and performance monitoring, deficiency avoidance, corrective actions and reporting.
  • Quality Monitoring Plan:
    often complemented with a computerized monitoring system that provides a structured approach to performance monitoring, deficiency avoidance, corrective actions and reporting.
  • Food Safety Management:
    developed to ensure the safety of food.
  • Customer Satisfaction Surveys:
    a critical feed back system.

Health & Safety

Our Health and Safety Management Plan is based on the International Standard for Safety Management Systems OHSAS 18001. A natural fit with this programme are our initiatives in Health and Hygiene, Environmental Consciousness, and Quality Control, and as such Health and Safety is a key part of our Integrated Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Program.
Recognising that our policies alone will not impact on our performance – the way forward is to clearly link processes and procedures that will engage our people.

The Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) model we have developed comprises of five interrelated components:

  • Commitment and Leadership;
  • Policies and Objectives;
  • Resources;
  • Operations;
  • Assessment.

We aim to continuously improve our systems and procedures through analysis, auditing and benchmarking.

Environment

At Ciano we recognize that we should strive to minimize adverse impact on the local environments in which we operate, and the global environment in general.
We also acknowledge that we have both a legal and moral responsibility to consider environmental impact at all aspects of business, and to ensure that best practice solutions are incorporated in business policies.

Our Environmental Policy is supported by our Environmental Strategy Management documents that state our company’s overall objectives in relation to environmental impact and set out specific areas of action and responsibility. Wherever possible, a joint partnership approach will be encouraged to enable Ciano to work with clients and suppliers to progress environmental awareness, together with local, national and international initiatives.

Our Management Document detail areas of action and responsibility in general terms and also with the specific areas of:

  • Pollution Prevention;
  • Waste Management;
  • Energy Efficiency;
  • Recycling;
  • Water Conservation.

We aim to continuously improve our systems and procedures through analysis, auditing and benchmarking.
